Since 2006 Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organisation (SSMO) have recognized CIS Commodity Inspection Services for inspection and certification of strategic commodities exported to The Republic of Sudan.
CIS Commodity Inspection Services is authorized to test, inspect and certify goods and commodities imported into The Republic of Sudan as per the relevant SSMO standards and or other International standards.
In order to clear their goods upon arrival at The Republic of Sudan importers have to present the Inspection Certificates of CIS Commodity Inspection Services along with other relevant shipping documents to the Sudanese Customs.
Scope of inspection comprises:
- Pre-shipment inspection
- Supervision during stuffing / loading
- Sampling
- Analysis at ISO 17025 accredited Laboratory
- Issuance of final Inspection Certificates
The list of strategic commodities comprises:
- Wheat
- Wheat flour
- Sugar
- Steel
- Asphalt
- Fertilizers
- Pesticides
- Cement
- Vegetable Ghee, animal ghee, shortening & margarine
